Arts organizations are often asked to create more and reach new audiences with no additional funding or capital, therefore a web strategy involving online fundraising at its core is imperative. Online fundraising simply isn’t a ‘donate now’ button. It’s carefully crafted content, imagery, nonprofit storytelling all wrapped up and delivered in a single solution.
Brain Surgeon Theater is a nonprofit children's theatre teaching kids creative thinking, team work, appropriate play and hard work through original programming. With the recent move to an ideal space in Chicago, they are adding new programs and expanding existing offerings. Now they need to market all those programs and solicit donations to support scholarships - quickly, effectively, and without driving up day-to-day administrative costs or hiring technical staff.
This is the challenge BST's Artistic Director brought to the SocialRaise team. After a few discovery sessions, where we learned the details of the organization and goals/objectives for the next 6-12 months, it was clear that BST needed an encompassing site/content management system with improved social media capabilities, online forms for program interest, registration and donation processing. A solution that is sophisticated, yet fun and creative. One that enabled visitors to "self-serve" as much as possible and cut down on the need for human intervention in every process. And finally, a site that could easily be maintained. Arts organizations don't have time to spend on technology, so it needed to be as autonomous as possible.
Brain Surgeon Theater can now spread the word about all the creative opportunities for kids, manage incoming requests for participation and do it without being technical experts. And donations can be used to fund scholarships to BST's summer camp, not administrative overhead to manage operations.
