Reducing Building Emissions in Chicago

Retrofit ChicagoWorking with the Natural Resources Defense Council, SocialRaise helped implement Retrofit Chicago: a program designed to reduce building energy use by 20%. Some of Chicago's most prominent buildings, such as The Merchandise Mart and Shedd Aquarium, are active participants of the program.

The goals for the program were to:

1) Establish branding for Retrofit Chicago (style, logo, look and feel).
2) Have a site (based on a content management system) for Retrofit Chicago that features buildings in a directory-like format.
3) Create awareness of the program with other building owners/ staff and fellow Chicagoans.

Within one month, and a few discovery sessions, we were up and running.

Since then, SocialRaise has contributed to their communications, helping to make something complex seem relatively simple. For example, we developed an infographic to clearly convey the successes of the program--reducing the energy needed to understand this important energy saving initiative.
